Be careful! This fondue maker does not take normal rubbing alcohol. You will need to buy a special gelled fuel which is not available in most stores. I had to get mine online and pay an extra $15 including shipping. Also, the instructions say not to cook it in the pot itself, but rather to make the fondue on the stove in a normal pot and then transfer it to the ceramic one on the table. I spent 5 years living in Switzerland and never saw anyone do it like that! They always made it directly in the ceramic fondue maker. I can't figure out what their reasoning for this is.
